Eric Dier (30), who is increasingly taking his place in Bayern Munich, has publicly expressed his desire to return to the English national team.

In an interview with The Sunday Times on the 9th (Korea time), Dyer longed for a return to the English national team. His confidence is the beginning of his remarks as he has recently turned the green light as a starting member of Munich.

Dier, who moved to Munich after suffering severe criticism from Tottenham in January, has been selected for the last two consecutive games. He is living in Germany in a very different atmosphere than in Tottenham.

Dier, 29, joined Tottenham in 2014 and scored 13 goals and 12 assists in 364 games. However, he has suffered from a flurry of criticism in recent years, as his defense was poor.

The criticism against Dyer reached its peak at the end of last year, and voices calling for him to be disposed of quickly came from here and there.

Surprisingly, there was a club that wanted Dyer, who showed below-expectations defense enough to be recognized as an “automated door” at Tottenham. That is Munich.

Munich signed Dyer on loan in January and announced his permanent move on March 2. The option to extend the contract was automatically triggered when the number of appearances clause was met. “I will be with Dyer for another year. I have extended my contract for one season until June 2025,” Munich said.

Dier has played nine matches in all tournaments since moving to Munich, seven of which he started.

Dyer pushed Kim Min-jae to the bench for the last two consecutive games and started to help the team win.

He started the game against FSV Mainz 05 in the 25th round of the German Bundesliga in the 2023-2024 season at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, and played until the 30th minute of the second half. The team won a landslide 8-1 victory.

Munich coach Thomas Tuchel formed a center-back selection combination with Dyer and Matthijs the Licht instead of Kim. Kim was on standby on the bench.

Dyer, who started the match against Mainz in lieu of Kim Min-jae, performed fairly well. He recorded a success rate of 92 percent (46/50), two successful tackles, three clearings, six ball recovery, and five successful ball competitions. He also recorded one shot, two passes to the offensive area, one touch in the opponent’s box, and 63 percent (5/8) success rate of mid- to long-range passes.

Tuchel won all of his matches in which Dyer started for two consecutive games. The most important thing in a soccer match is victory anyway. There is no reason not to use Dyer from Tuchel’s point of view.

Dyer is aiming to start in three consecutive Bundesliga games against Darmstadt on the 16th.

Dyer said in an interview with The Sunday Times, “Interestingly, I get better reviews overseas than in Korea.” This means that he knows the atmosphere in which he has good reviews for himself.

He also aims to return to the England national team while he is away.

A few years ago, Dyer consistently joined the national team and played 49 A-match games. Recently, however, he has been shunned by Southgate. 룸알바

“I really want to participate in Euro 2024 (to be held in June). As a soccer player, it is natural,” Dyer said.

Harry Kane (Munich), his best friend and former England teammate, also cheered for Dier.

According to The Sun on Sunday, Kane said, “Die must continue his performance now. England manager Gareth Southgate said he knows what he can do, and he will be happy to see him play at the highest level.”
