The United Arab Emirates (UAE), led by head coach Paulo Bento, has confirmed its advance to the third qualifying round.
UAE recorded a 3-0 victory over Yemen in the fourth Group H match of the 2026 FIFA North Central U.S. World Cup Asian qualifying round held at Prince Saud bin Zalawi Stadium in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, at 4 a.m. on the 27th (Korea time).
The UAE has brought a 4-2-3-1 formation. Adil, Al Gasani, Al Jabi, Lima, Nader, Al Balushi, Abalaziz, Al Atas, Alhamadi, and Ibrahim started and Aisa kept the goal. In response, Yemen made use of the 4-4-2 formation. Marus, Aslam, Al Wahji, Anbar, Al Mari, Al Matari, Al Ghaili, Al Gaili, Algawashi, Caleb, and Al Duch filled the starting lineup, while Kairala wore goalie gloves.

The team played its third match of the World Cup qualifying round in an effort to regain its crumpled pride. With Yemeni team home, the UAE won 2-1, and successfully renewed its mood. Yemen was no match for the UAE. After receiving a pass from Abalaziz in the box in the 23rd minute, Lima scored an additional goal with a left footed shot. The UAE sealed it. Adil caught the ball in the box in the 36th minute and scored his team’s third goal with a left footed shot.
In the second half, the UAE had a stable game. Yemen wanted to make changes through active substitution cards, but Bento didn’t put a tone on the country with corresponding substitution tactics. So the second half went scoreless and the game ended in a 3-0 victory for the UAE.
