At the Cooperstown Hall of Fame Museum in New York on Monday (Korea time), President Josh Ravich said, “Beltre and Mauer, who won more than 75 percent of votes in the first year of eligibility, and Helton, who won the honor in six years, were selected as members of the prestigious exhibition among 26 candidates in 2024. Beltre (44), who played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox, and Texas Rangers for 21 years, won 366 votes out of 385 votes cast by the American Baseball Reporters (BBWAA), receiving 95.1% of the votes.
Beltre is from the Dominican Republic and has recorded the most hits (3166) by a third baseman. He is the fourth player in MLB history to have 3,000 hits and 450 home runs or more. Willie Mays, Karl Yastrazimski and Dave Winfield are members of the club.
