The Korean Volleyball Association (KVA) has announced the roster of the men’s national team that will compete at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou and other international events.
The men’s team, led by head coach Lim Do-heon, is currently training at the Jincheon Athletes’ Village in Chungcheongbuk-do. Their first target is the 2023 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Challenger Cup in Taipei, Taiwan, from July 8-15.
If the team wins the tournament, they will represent Asia at the 2023 FIVB (International Volleyball Federation) Challenger Men from July 26-30.
This will be followed by the Asian Men’s 메이저사이트 Volleyball Championship in Tehran, Iran from August 18-26. From September 19-26, the Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou, China. This will conclude the national team’s schedule for the season.
Currently, 17 players have been selected for the national team. Some of them have been training at the Jincheon Athletes’ Village since May 1. The Korean Air squad, which returned home from the 2023 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Men’s Club Championship on May 23, will arrive on May 24. Among them is outside hitter Jung Ji-seok.
On May 6 last year, Jeong was suspended by the Korea Volleyball Association for one year from representative player enhancement training. It was related to a complaint from his ex-girlfriend. He later settled all legal issues with his accuser. The prosecution also dropped the charges. His addition to the national team will be a big help. The team is expected to be stronger across the board, including serving, receiving, blocking, and attacking.
It will be important for the team to win the Asia Challenger Men’s Tournament in Taipei in July, which will put them back on the international stage after last year’s FIVB Challenger Cup.
