He has become an enemy to overcome in a year from the best ally in Korea. Lee Seung-woo (26, Jeonbuk Hyundai) is vowing to win over “Geunsa” Kim Do-kyun, head coach of Seoul E-Land.
Jeonbuk Hyundai defeated Dynamic Cebu (Philippines) 4-0 in the fifth Group H match of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League TWO (ACLT) held at Jeonju World Cup Stadium at 7 p.m. on the 28th.
Jeonbuk has secured 12 points with four wins and one loss to maintain its No. 1 position in the group. It also widened its gap with third-ranked Muangtong United (five points), which had played one less game, to seven points, and secured early advancement to the round of 16 tournaments. Regardless of the result of the final match, it has secured at least the second place.
It was a one-sided match. Jeonbuk gained the upper hand with Lee Seung-woo’s first goal of the penalty kick in the first six minutes of the match. Choi Soon-sil tripped while digging into the right side of the box and won a penalty kick, and Lee finished the match with a powerful shot.
Since then, Jeonbuk has tapped on the detailed goal based on its 80 percent possession rate. Jeon Byeong-gwan scored an additional goal. He penetrated the corner of the goal by catching the goalkeeper off guard with a low shot in the 29th minute of the first half.
There was no reversal in the second half. Jeonbuk scored a calm net in the seventh minute of the second half and Song Min-gyu in the 28th minute of the second half to complete a landslide 4-0 victory. Having won 6-0 in September at an away match in Cebu, Jeonbuk has scored 10 points and lost 0 points in the two matches.
Lee Seung-woo, who started the game for the first time in a long time and even scored a goal, said in the mixed zone after the match, “I was so happy to pass the preliminary round with all the players. Thank you so much to the fans who came and cheered for me despite the cold weather.”
Unexpectedly, Lee was appointed as the starting pitcher. “I also wanted to play a little bit. I knew (about the selection) through discussions with the coach in advance,” he said. “It was so much fun in itself to play in the stadium. It was also fun to play with young players.”
Now, Jeonbuk has two games left to decide its fate. Jeonbuk, which finished 10th in the K-League 1, will take on Seoul E-Land, the winner of the K-League 2 PO, for a spot in the next season. After an away match with E-Land on December 1, it will return to Jeonju on December 8 for the second round.
Lee said with a smile, “The mood is so good. Through today’s victory, the players will be confident again and continue to have a good atmosphere.”
Ironically, Lee Seung-woo will meet E-Land coach Kim Do-kyun, who was with Suwon FC until last season, as his enemy. The two collaborated on Suwon FC’s stay in the K-League and shed tears of joy in last year’s promotion PO, but this time they are in a position to break each other down.
When the coach Kim Do-kyun’s name came out, Lee smiled and said, “I took a picture with Young-jae and sent it to you. He said his face is good.” “I don’t know if it’s my destiny. It’s amazing to see him again like this. I’m not in the same team but as an enemy. I have to do well. I have to win.”
I am Lee Seung-woo, who is playing the role of a mood maker at the training site. “I came to Jeonbuk amid a bad situation, and I made a big decision to come here. I expected the mood to be bad because the team that is competing for the championship is at the bottom of the list.” I wanted to do well there first because there are quite a few players outside of soccer. Whether I play or not, I wanted to brighten up the mood of the team as much as possible. I didn’t do it alone, but we are all doing well together. The results so far have been bad, but the players have not given up and are trying to do well.” 스포츠토토
Lastly, Lee said, “We have two most important matches left. First of all, we will prepare well for this week’s game in Mokdong and produce the best results. I would appreciate it if you could support us until the end,” promising Jeonbuk fans to stay.
