Paris Saint-Germain’s Hugo Ekitiqe, 21, has fallen out of contention. It looks like he will be joining the Premier League in the January winter transfer window.

“Newcastle United are looking to sign PSG forward Ekitiqe on loan in January,” Football Insider reported on Jan. 22.

“Newcastle had previously agreed a £30 million transfer fee, including add-ons, with Ekitiqe’s former club Stade de Reims in January 2022. However, the deal fell through after Ekitiqe rejected the offer.”

Finally, “The arrival of Kolo Moani and Gonzalo Higuain at PSG this summer has narrowed Ekitiqe’s space. He has played just eight minutes this season, a clear sign of surplus resources. Ekitiqe is very likely to leave on loan in January and Newcastle will face competition from other Premier League clubs for his signature.”

Ekitiqe is a French striker. He came through the Stade de Reims youth ranks and made his debut in the 2020-21 season. He exploded with potential in the 2021-22 season. He scored 10 goals in the Ligue 1 that season, reaching double-digit goals. This performance led to a flurry of offers from big clubs. In addition to PSG, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have also expressed interest.

Ekitiqe joined PSG last season on a loan with a mandatory transfer clause, and as expected, his playing time was limited due to an ultra-luxury attacking lineup. Ekiti finished the 2022-23 season with just four goals and four assists in 32 games.

This season has been even worse. With Moani and Hamuth up front, he hasn’t even been named in the matchday squad. His only appearance came as a late substitute in the Ligue 1 opener and he’s been left out of the squad for the second and third rounds. 토토사이트

With a loan move likely in the winter transfer window, several Premier League clubs are salivating. Newcastle are among the most active. The Magpies are so interested that they’ve already tried to sign him in 2022. The Magpies have also lost Callum Wilson to a hamstring injury.

Could Ekitiqe get his career back on track with a loan move?
