Lucas Giolito (29), a right-handed pitcher who has been criticized for his wild pitches, is reportedly getting a new contract.

‘Giolito did not have an ideal season last year,’ Yahoo Sports reported on Nov. 11 (KST), ‘He pitched for three teams, starting with the White Sox, who traded him to the Los Angeles Angels before the deadline. However, after struggling in six starts for his hometown team, he was claimed off waivers and assigned to the Cleveland Indians.

Giolito was in a Chicago White Sox uniform on Opening Day. He went 6-6 with a 3.79 ERA in 21 starts last season and was acquired in a trade by the Angels, who won the district title. He was touted as a “championship pitcher” but struggled in his first six starts, going 1-5 with a 6.89 ERA. The same was true in Cleveland, where he went 1-4 with a 7.04 ERA in six starts and never regained the dominance he showed with the White Sox. For the season, he is 8-15 with a 4.88 ERA in 184 and one-third innings. 보스토토 도메인

The New York Post’s John Heyman reported that Giolito is expected to sign a lucrative contract based on the results of the general managers’ meetings in Scottsdale, Arizona. Giolito is one of the more “durable” starters in the game, having pitched 160 innings in each of the last three seasons.Heyman said, “Giolito is expected to receive a contract in the $50 million to $80 million range, despite allowing at least eight earned runs a game on three different teams in three different seasons, which is a surprising amount of money for a starting pitcher with a 4.88 ERA on three different teams. Despite the roller-coaster season, Yahoo Sports added, “teams still appear to be recognizing Giolito’s value.

Giolito is a former first-round draft pick (12th overall) of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft by the Washington Nationals. He made his big league debut in 2016 and has a career (8-year) big league record of 61-62 with a 4.43 ERA.
