Yang Min-hyuk (18, Kangwon FC), who was born in 2006, won two trophies, including the Young Player Award and the Best 11 in his first season as a professional player. The Young Player Award, which drew attention, failed to be unanimous, but he still left the record of the most votes ever, writing a new history in the K-League 1.

At the Hana Bank K-League Awards held at the Swiss Grand Hotel in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul on Monday, Yang was named the Young Player Award and the K-League 1’s Best 11 right-hand midfielder, and won two gold medals. The youngest nominee to receive the MVP award failed to win the award, falling behind Cho Hyun-woo (Ulsan HD).

During this season, Yang was truly sensational. Since debuting in the K-League with semi-professional contracts as a high school student, he played in all 38 matches, scoring 12 goals and six assists, and was a key player of Gangwon’s No. 2 rank. During the season, he even switched to professional player contract. He also became the youngest player in the K-League, including the youngest double-digit score, and all other K-League records were filled with Yang Min-hyuk’s name.

He participated in all games, had 18 attack points, and had a team record (second place). Yang Min-hyuk’s winning of the Young Player Award was a given early on. Of course, Hwang Jae-won (Daegu FC) and Hong Yoon-sang (Pohang Steelers), who were also nominated, were eligible for the Young Player Award, as they played as the mainstay of the team at an early age, but they were not able to overcome Yang’s presence.

Naturally, keen attention was paid to the possibility of “unanimous agreement.” The winners were decided by votes from coaches (30 percent), captains (30 percent), and media (40 percent). Instead, coaches and captains were not allowed to cast votes for players on the same team. Yang could receive 11 votes from coaches, 11 from captains, and 116 from media participating in the K League 1 awards, excluding Yoon Jeong-hwan and Yoon Suk-young.

Unfortunately, however, it was possible to get 100 percent of the vote, which was virtually unanimity. Except for Yoon, all 11 commanders voted for Yang, but the captain’s vote resulted in one departure. In media voting, only one out of 116 votes was for Hong Yoon-sang, not Yang. The media vote share was 99.1 percent, and the converted score amounted to 92.16 points.

Nevertheless, Yang Min-hyuk has made a new history by breaking the highest score ever since 2018, when votes for coaches and captains began to be reflected in the K League 1 Young Player Award. Previously, the highest conversion score ever in the K League 1 Young Player Award was 86.55 points for Yang Hyun-joon (Celtic, then Gangwon). At that time, Yang Hyun-joon received nine out of 11 votes for coaches, 11 out of 11 votes for captains, and 106 out of 116 votes for media. 바카라사이트

Although it failed to be unanimous, Yang Min-hyuk’s vote share in the Young Player Award is not expected to be easily broken for the time being. Yang Min-hyuk also received 7 out of 11 votes from coaches, 7 out of 11 votes from captains, and 106 out of 116 votes from media in the K League 1’s best 11 midfielders, beating Jung Jae-hee (Pohang, 11.72 points) and Jung Seung-won (Suwon FC, 9.22 points) with a conversion score of 79.05.

After the ceremony, Yang Min-hyuk said, “I’m honored and happy to receive two big awards. I want to thank everyone who allowed me to receive this award,” adding, “It’s all the more meaningful to receive the Young Player award following (Yang) Hyun-joon.”
