AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas turned from his old team into a striker and scored five goals.
“It was a memorable debut for Manolas,” Italy’s Sky Sports said on Monday (Korea time), adding that Manolas, who signed with Panaxiacos of Greece’s third division, played as a striker in the match against Marfissacos. He scored five goals in 34 minutes.
Manolas is a defender from the Greek national soccer team. He grew up in Panaxiakos Youth System and became famous among Greece’s best teams including AEK Athens and Olympiacos. After debuting in A-match for Greece’s national soccer team in 2013, he greatly contributed to Greece’s advance to the round of 16 at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
AS Roma watched Manolas play. Roma recruited Manolas by paying 15 million euros (22.3 billion won) in transfer fee ahead of the 2014-15 season. He has also shown good performance. He played as a key defender, scoring eight goals and six assists in 206 games during five seasons.
Since then, Manolas has taken on a new challenge by choosing to move to Napoli in the 2019-20 season. However, his performance was somewhat disappointing. The following year, he was not in a bad condition, but his team performance was not good. Eventually, he returned to Olympiacos in the winter transfer market in the 2021-22 season.
After playing for Olympiacos for half a season, Manolas moved to Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, and joined Salernitana during the last season for eight games, but failed to prevent his team from being demoted. He recently returned to Panaxiakos, where he started playing soccer. 먹튀검증
Interesting news spread. Manolas made his debut for Panaxiakos. However, he played as a striker, not as a central defender in his original position. He scored as many as five goals in the first 34 minutes of the game. Panaxiakos won 12-1.
“It’s a sincere decision considering that Manolas played for Panaxia Course from 2003 to 2007,” Sky Sports said. “There could have been no better debut or return. He has proven that he can take on a new role.”
