The Korea Football Association’s labor union recently issued a second statement calling for the resignation of Vice Chairman Kim Jung-bae (58), a former vice minister of culture, sports and tourism, to deal with the crisis in Korean soccer.
In the first statement, the association’s union voiced its opposition to Chung Mong-kyu, president of the Korea Football Association, serving a fourth term in office.
The association’s union said in a statement on the 17th, “Vice President Kim Jung-bae should apologize to soccer fans and soccer players and resign immediately,” adding, “We should not forget that Chairman Chung Mong-gyu’s declaration of not running is the first step in normalizing Korean soccer.”
Vice Chairman Kim Jung-bae was appointed as the working-level general manager in March last year when all the vice-chairman and board members resigned due to the scandal over the match-fixing amnesty.
