Jesse Lingard (32, FC Seoul), who is embroiled in a controversy over driving without a license on the kickboard, apologized for his fault.
It has been reported that a police investigation is scheduled for Lingard due to his driving without a license and helmet. Lingard posted a video of him riding a shared kickboard on his social networking site on Wednesday. It is known that he was eating with his mother and younger sister in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, during his visit to Korea.
The Seoul Gangnam Police Station will investigate Lingard’s unlicensed driving.
In response, Lingard quickly admitted his mistake. According to the official, Lingard disclosed to the club details of the previous day’s incident on Thursday.
He also immediately apologized on his SNS account. “I drove a scooter (kickboard) for a few minutes yesterday. I didn’t know that I had to get a driver’s license and wear a helmet because I can ride freely in England or Europe. Foreigners visiting Korea should check the regulations carefully. It can be dangerous and safety comes first. Everyone should wear a helmet, and I will never do that again,” he said in an Instagram story video.
In another story post, he then added, “Sorry. In the previous video, I mean countries outside of the UK have different regulations on kickboarding. Be safe anyway and know the regulations.” 먹튀검증
Lingard, who joined Seoul this season, has emerged as a key player in his team. Seoul, which has been undefeated in six recent matches but lost to Daejeon Hana Citizen on Wednesday, will play an away match against Daegu FC in round 31 this weekend.
