FC Seoul recovered its pride as the most popular Korean professional football club by capturing both performance and crowd mobilization in the K-League this season.
Kim Joo-sung (23), a “national central defender” who firmly protects Seoul’s rear at the center, looked back on this season and thanked the benefactors, and frankly revealed why his personality changed.
FC Seoul held a media day at GS Champions Park in Guri-si, Gyeonggi-do at 2 p.m. on the 30th.
The first season of Seoul and Kim Ki-dong was truly a bonanza. Through the 35th round of the K League 1, Kim has been ranked fourth with 15 wins, eight draws and two losses (53 points). He has been ranked 9-7-9-7 for the past four years to stay in the Final B (7th to 12th), but he is aiming to return to the Final A (1st to 6th) from the first year since Kim’s inauguration and advance to the Asian Champions League.
Seoul’s status, which commanded the K League, was returning.
After the joint interview and official training of Kim Ki-dong, Ki Sung-yueng, and Jesse Lingard, he met Kim Joo-sung, Seoul’s main central defender. He is also a member of Seoul’s national team, as a left-footed center back that any team wants to recruit.
Kim said, “It seems to be my first time competing for a Champions League ticket since my debut season. Just because the players can go on a big stage is fueling my enthusiasm.”
Kim joined the winter training camp in Seoul late because he had to complete his national team schedule. No matter how much I do, Kim gets nervous when the head coach changes.
“Since the coach has changed, the nation has been determined to play only when the players are shown properly. I was very worried because I could not boost up my body as I joined the second training camp in Seoul, although I was appointed to the Asian Cup team. However, the coach gave me trust and consideration from the beginning, which helped me adjust to the situation.
“When Sung-yong is in front of the four-back, it is easy for him to build up,” Kim said of Ki Sung-yueng, who recently returned to the team. When Sung-yong comes down to receive the ball, he relieves the burden on the defenders. He gives me a lot of advice on the national team as well. Some said that he should talk a lot at the training site as a defender and lead the defense line. He also gave me belief that I can improve further if I set a goal so that I don’t get lazy and achieve one by one.” 먹튀검증
Before the interview, I was told by the Seoul club’s public relations team that Kim was originally a talented player. However, there is a report that Kim has become serious, hiding his talent.
When I asked Kim Joo-sung about this, he said, “I think a lot of juniors came in, and I think defenders should have weight. That’s because when you talk, you gain strength. I also feel like I’m becoming more introverted as I get older.”
