Park Joo-young opened up about his retirement.
FC Seoul tied Ulsan HD 1-1 in the 37th round of the “Hana One Q K League 1 2024” held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Seoul came in fourth with 55 points (15 wins, 10 draws and 12 losses), while Ulsan ranked first with 69 points (20 wins, 9 draws and 8 losses).
On the day, Park started at the bench. Park started at 32 minutes in the first half when he replaced Kang Yoon-koo. He did not play much time and displayed no clear performance. After the first half, he replaced Lee Chung-yong.
After the game, Park said, “I was not ready at all because I didn’t think I would be able to participate in the game. I didn’t have high expectations on my participation in the game. It was not something I wanted to do much, but the players gathered their hearts and helped me, and the coaching staff also met my demands. The parts that I care about were coaches. Personally, I want to thank the players, the coaching staff, and all the members.”
“I was so grateful for the support. I felt the most sorry. Each player has his or her own position. Everyone wants to play, but I felt sorry for taking that position. Still, I had a good time because the players understood me well and helped me,” he added.
This was Park’s first official match in two years. However, he didn’t feel awkward at all. “I had no problem running because we’ve been training together. I was not particularly sick anywhere,” Park said.
Park is now nearing retirement. Born in 1985, Park is 39 years old. “I think it will become natural. If I stop, that’s what retirement is all about,” Park said of his retirement. 메이저사이트
Park is not thinking much about his future plans. “I don’t have many plans. Since we have more games to play, we will prepare to support our players silently so that they can show the best results,” Park said.
After the game, Park talked with Ki Sung-yueng and Lee Chung-yong, who both played for Seoul and the national team. “It wasn’t just a discussion. I thought I could play more games because I was in good shape,” he said. “It was just a pep talk.”
