Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC (hereinafter referred to as Jeonbuk Hyundai) has started to strengthen its constitution for the efficiency of team management.
Jeonbuk Hyundai said in a press release on the 8th that it will appoint Michael Kim (Korean name Kim Young-min), who served as the coach for the national soccer team for the 2022 Qatar World Cup and the head coach for the 2024 interim coach Hwang Sun-hong, as the new technical director. Jeonbuk Hyundai has set up a new power reinforcement room to specialize in the direction of the team’s operation, advanced systems and processes, as well as data science, and selected him as the head of the team.
Jeonbuk Hyundai said it has established a power reinforcement room dedicated to scouting systems and recruitment processes and carried out new personnel appointments to move forward from the ever-fiercing K-League and the Asian stage to an advanced leading club. It added that this will improve the efficiency of recruiting players and provide the foundation for sustainable development by specializing and dividing the front line work.
Michael Kim began his coaching career as a full-time leader of the Korea Football Association in 2006 and participated as an analyst for the 2007 U-20 World Cup, the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Since then, he has developed leadership in the K-League and the Chinese professional soccer league, including Jeju United (2010-2012), Daejeon Citizen (2013-2015), Shanghai Shenxin (2016), and FC Anyang (2017-2018).
Michael Kim, who expanded his career to the South Korean A national team in 2018, joined the national soccer team led by Paulo Bento as a coach and successfully led the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
Michael Kim has gained various experiences in football administration and team power enhancement, including the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup Organizing Committee’s International Affairs Bureau (2000-2002), Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Games Bureau (2003-2005), England Manchester United Consultant (2008-2010), and Suwon Samsung Scout Team Leader (2018). 메이저놀이터
