Lucas Paqueta, who is currently under investigation for match fixing, issued a statement.

British media ‘Golden Dotcom’ reported on the 18th (Korea Standard Time) that “Lucas Paqueta, in an angry statement posted on social media, gave a word about a misleading leak about the ongoing gambling investigation.”

Paqueta is accused of intentionally receiving yellow cards in four Premier League matches, including matches against Leicester City, Aston Villa, Leeds United and Bournemouth. If these allegations are proven, Paqueta could face severe punishment from the FA, including a lifetime ban on professional football.

Media reports that Paqueta has been summoned to a hearing later this month over the allegations have intensified the investigation into his involvement. In addition to the match-fixing charges, Paqueta has been charged with two charges, one of refusing to comply with the ongoing FA investigation.

Responding to the media reports, Paqueta issued a statement expressing anger and denying the allegations on his SNS. “I am deeply disappointed and angry to read a misleading and inaccurate press article that claims to disclose information about my case in the United Kingdom and Brazil recently,” Paqueta said.

He continued, “Some of that information is completely false and appears to be intended to undermine my position. I am also concerned that while these articles are false and misleading, they must have been sourced by an individual closely related to the incident.”

“The FA process must remain confidential and is a very serious matter for me and my family. As inaccurate information continues to be leaked and disclosed to the media, the opportunity to get a fair hearing is in danger,” Paqueta said.

“I have therefore directed the lawyers to send a letter to the FA asking for a thorough investigation into how information about this case is disclosed, even if it is inaccurate. I continue to deny the allegations against me and look forward to being able to exonerate me,” Paqueta explained lastly. 메이저사이트

The FA first opened an investigation into Paqueta’s alleged involvement in match fixing in the summer of 2023. However, West Ham is considering bringing the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland, if necessary. West Ham believes the lifetime ban is unreasonable and has expressed concern over the seriousness of the potential punishment.

Although an investigation is currently under way, Paqueta can continue to play for West Ham until the FA’s disciplinary process is completed. Paqueta is scheduled to play against Tottenham this weekend.
