Huh Jung-moo, former chairman of the Daejeon Hana Citizen in the K-League 1, is challenging the president of the Korea Football Association, which Hyundai has been in charge of for 31 years.

Former chairman Huh Jung-moo will hold a press conference at the Olympic Parktel at 2 p.m. on the 25th to run for president of the Korea Football Association.

Former chairman Huh explained at the time of formalizing his candidacy on the 21st, “I decided to run for the 55th president of the Korea Football Association to correct the status of Korean soccer, which is shaking dangerously, and to help prepare for the future of Korean soccer.”

He added, “Former chairman Huh will hold a press conference to run for the election to feel the problems of Korean soccer as a soccer player and announce his ambition to carry out ‘transparent association management’ to innovate it.”

As a result, former chairman Huh will challenge the president of the Korea Football Association, which Hyundai has been in charge of for 31 years since 1993.

Former chairman Huh, who experienced the European stage while playing for PSV Eindhoven (the Netherlands) in the early 1980s, transformed into a leader in 1990 and coached professional soccer K-League clubs such as Jeonnam Dragons and Incheon United.

In 2010, he led the Korean men’s national soccer team to the 2010 FIFA South Africa World Cup and advanced to the round of 16 at an away tournament for the first time in history.

He has since become an administrator. He served as vice president of the Korea Football Association from 2013 to 2014, and vice president of the Korea Professional Football Association from 2015 to 2019. He also served as chairman of Daejeon until last year.

The current president of the Korea Football Association is Chung Mong-gyu, whose term ends next year.

Chairman Chung has not officially declared his bid for the fourth term yet, but the prevailing view is that he will actually seek the fourth term.

Unlike the possibility of a fourth term challenge, it has not received full support.

Football fans, as well as the KFA union, are calling for the removal of the current leadership.

To make matters worse, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently asked the Korea Football Association to impose severe disciplinary measures beyond Chung’s suspension.

Amid Chairman Chung’s faltering position, former Chairman Huh became the first person to challenge the president of the Korea Football Association.

If Chairman Chung also officially announces his intention to run, multiple candidates will run for the first time in 12 years and compete for the position of president of the Korea Football Association. 먹튀검증

The election for the 55th president of the Korea Football Association will be held by the 12th of next month.

After that, the vote will be held on January 8 next year after a three-day candidate registration period from the 25th.

The electors are made up of about 200 soccer players, including representatives from the Korea Football Association, executives from affiliated organizations, and leaders, players, and referees.

According to Article 23-2 (2) of the articles of association of the Korea Football Association, candidates for the president of the Korea Football Association are only allowed under the age of 70 as of the day of the election.

The scheduled election date is five days before the 70th birthday of former Chairman Huh, who was born on January 13, 1955, so it is not a problem for him to run.
