Hong Myung-bo will play an away game against the Palestinians in Jordan.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced on Wednesday (local time) that it has decided to play the sixth Group B match of the third Asian qualifying round for the 2026 North-China World Cup between South Korea and Palestine in Amman, Jordan. As a result, Hong Myung-bo will have a showdown with the Palestinians at the Amman International Stadium at 11 p.m. on March 19 in Korean time.

The match should be held at the Palestinian home, but the venue has changed because militant Hamas and Israel have been at war for more than a year in Gaza, Palestine. Palestine has played home games in neutral areas such as Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Alaiyan, Qatar since the second qualifying round. The South Korean national team, led by head coach Hong Myung-bo, has a good memory of winning 2-0 in the third qualifying round against Jordan on the 10th.

Team Hong Myung-bo will play its fifth match against Kuwait on November 14 and then move to Amman to play two consecutive away matches where it will face off against the Palestinians. Korea is leading Group B with three wins and one draw (10 points). It is the only unbeaten team in Group B. Jordan and Iraq with seven points are ranked second and third, respectively, while Oman and Kuwait with three points are fourth and fifth, respectively. The Palestinians rank sixth, the lowest with only two points. The Palestinians will play their fifth match against Oman on November 14 and then play against Korea in Amman. 안전놀이터

The third qualifying round is the de facto final qualifying round in which six of the 8.5 finalists will be decided. With 18 countries competing in three groups, up to the second place in each group will receive a ticket to the North-China-U.S. World Cup finals. The six countries ranking third and fourth will play the fourth qualifying round to select additional participants.
