Huh Jung-moo, former chairman of the Daejeon Hana Citizen in the K-League 1, threw his hat into the ring to become the president of the Korea Football Association, who knows the scene well as a soccer player.

Former chairman Huh Jung-moo held a press conference to run for president of the Korea Football Association at the Olympic Parktel on the 25th.

After reading the declaration of his candidacy, he expressed his determination to challenge the president of the Korea Football Association, which has been held by the Hyundai family for 31 years, through a question-and-answer session with reporters.

“I stood here with a heavy sense of responsibility and a sense of duty. I will no longer remain as a bystander,” Huh said. “The path I am trying to take is definitely a thorny road. There is also a huge barrier. However, someone has decided not to give up and take the lead. I will start a pleasant challenge to reform the Korea Football Association and create a new 100 years of Korean soccer.”

“Right now, Korean soccer is on shaky ground. It is neither clean nor transparent nor just. The Korea Football Association’s self-righteous and self-righteous operating system has resulted in the collapse of the system,” he said. “Someone decided to become a small grain of wheat to revive our soccer team out of a sense of duty to stop the crash.”

Former Chairman Huh also mentioned five solutions at the meeting.

▲Companion, Open KFA with All ▲ Fair, transparent and fair association operation by system ▲ Balance, guarantee creativity and autonomy of local associations ▲ Establishment of transparent and systematic leadership and senior system ▲ Fostering, fostering young soccer dreamers and improving women’s soccer competitiveness were proposed.

Former Chairman Huh has worked with Chairman Chung Mong-kyu when he served as vice chairman of the Korea Football Association in the past.

In response, former chairman Huh explained, “What I felt during my time at the association was that ‘true decision-making itself cannot be made’. When an agenda comes up in an organization, we have to coordinate opinions with experts and each department in charge to review, hold off, and promote it, but there is a regret (that it did not).”

At the same time, he added, “I think Chairman Chung is fundamentally a person who has a lot of passion and love for soccer.”

Unlike Chairman Chung, he also emphasized that he has a lot of field experience as a soccer player.

“I know the place. That is my strength. From the youth to the professional teams, I know the reality of Korean soccer,” Huh said. “I have always thought about how to develop based on this. This is why I am challenging myself as a soccer player (for the president of the Korea Football Association).”

It is not an easy challenge. As Hyundai is challenging the president of the Korea Football Association, which he has held for 31 years, there is external pressure as well.

“I’ve heard a lot (that he is going to challenge Hyundai) and I’ve heard a lot so far,” Huh said. “I also hear ‘How dare you’,” but added, “I have no fear in that regard. I’m determined to do my best, aiming at what I have to do without fear of any sound.”

Former Chairman Huh’s competitor is likely to be Chairman Chung.

Chairman Chung has not officially announced his bid for the fourth term yet, but the prevailing view is that he will try for the fourth term.

If Chung announces his candidacy, multiple candidates will compete for the position of president of the Korea Football Association for the first time in 12 years.

The election for the 55th president of the Korea Football Association will be organized by the 12th of next month, and the vote will be held on January 8 next year after a three-day candidate registration period from the 25th.

The electors are made up of about 200 soccer players, including representatives from the Korea Football Association, executives from affiliated organizations, and leaders, players, and referees.

According to Article 23-2 (2) of the articles of association of the Korea Football Association, candidates for the president of the Korea Football Association are only allowed under the age of 70 as of the day of the election.

The scheduled election date is five days before the 70th birthday of former chairman Huh, who was born on January 13, 1955, so running for office is not a problem.

Former chairman Huh, who played for PSV Eindhoven (the Netherlands) in the early 1980s and experienced the European stage, turned into a leader in the 1990s and led professional soccer K-League clubs such as Jeonnam Dragons and Incheon United.

In 2010, he led the Korean men’s national soccer team to the 2010 FIFA South Africa World Cup and advanced to the round of 16 at an away tournament for the first time in history. 온라인바카라

After that, he took the path of administrator.

He served as vice president of the Korea Football Association from 2013 to 2014, and also served as vice president of the Korea Professional Football Association from 2015 to 2019. He also served as chairman of Daejeon until last year.
