Portuguese national soccer striker Joao Felix (25) has completely moved to Chelsea in the English Premier League (EPL) after leaving Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Primera Liga.

Chelsea announced on the club’s official channel on the 22nd (Korea time).

According to BBC, Chelsea paid 45 million pounds (78.6 billion won) to Atletico to keep Felix. The contract is said to last seven years.

As a result, Felix will wear a blue uniform for the second time since playing for Chelsea on loan in the second half of the 2022-2023 season.

At the time of his loan status, he did not perform satisfactorily with four goals in 20 games, but he is aiming for a turnaround through his second challenge.

“I’m ready to make Chelsea my hometown,” Felix said on the club website after the transfer. “There’s no better place than Chelsea. I think I’m the perfect team to shine.”

“There are a number of factors that made me come back (to Chelsea), including the project, the team, the league, the fans, the good times I spent here,” he said, adding, “I felt really good when I was here despite the results I got (on loan). It’s nice to be back.”

Felix was once regarded as the second Cristiano Ronaldo (Alnasr). He became a surprise star at Atletico in 2019, but his persistence deteriorated. 스포츠토토

Since then, he has been on loan at Chelsea and FC Barcelona (Spain), but has not fully melted into Atletico, and eventually, through this transfer, he will challenge again at Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Atletico, which sent Felix to Chelsea, minimized the power gap by embracing Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher (24, England).
