Will Son Joon-ho (32, Suwon FC) be able to continue playing soccer.
The Chinese Football Association officially announced its disciplinary action in an official letter on Thursday, saying Son was involved in match fixing. The Chinese Football Association punished a total of 61 people, and 43 of them, including Son, judged that the level of punishment was serious, and imposed heavy punishment on them to permanently ban soccer-related activities.
Son Joon-ho held a press conference at the Suwon Sports Council on the afternoon of the 11th and expressed his feelings. After being imprisoned in a detention center, he confessed to a crime he did not want to be released early, which made his work bigger. In the process, he revealed that there were illegal threats and offers of sentence transactions by Chinese public security and judges.
The key is that the Chinese Football Association is charging Son with “match-rigging” charges. In order to quickly be released from China, Son falsely confessed his crime of receiving money and valuables. However, he explained that he has denied the charges until the end regarding match-rigging.
The situation is turning against Son. China’s Public Security arrested several players, including Shandong’s Jin Jingdao (Kim Kyung-do), for participating in match-fixing in the match against Shanghai Sanggang in January, when Son played, and made money. In the process, Jin Jingdao reportedly stated that Son Joon-ho also participated in match-fixing.
Five days after the match, Jin Jing-dao sent 200,000 yuan (37.77 million won) to Son Joon-ho via mobile phone. Public security in China sees the remittance as decisive evidence that Son was paid for the match-fixing. “It is not illegal at all,” Son said. “He said he received the money (from a colleague), but it was not a match-fixing deal.”
There is no solid evidence to prove that the money Son Joon-ho received from his colleague was not a quid pro quo. It is a false confession, but Son Joon-ho was already branded a sinner because he had pleaded guilty to receiving money and goods in China. 안전놀이터
The Chinese Football Association has filed a complaint against Son with FIFA. If FIFA punishes Son, he will not be able to play in Korea.
“The Chinese Football Association needs to prove that he rigged the match. I have no proof, in my opinion. FIFA will not rule in favor of the Chinese Football Association,” Son said.
However, things may not go as Son wants. Son’s side declared, “If FIFA favors China, we will appoint a lawyer to respond later.”
