England football legend Gary Lineker is dropping out of the famous show Match of the Day, where he played as a sign.
The BBC said Lineker will step down from the BBC’s popular football program Match of the Day at the end of the 2024-2025 season. However, he plans to continue his career as a football expert at the BBC until 2026, and will also broadcast the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North and Central America.
BBC Sport Director Alex Kai-Gilsky said, “He has led the program brilliantly for 25 years. We are deeply grateful for his contribution, and this program, which was loved by Sumackmann’s viewers, will miss him.”
Lineker became a huge hit after retiring from active duty, and recently established a podcast production company, showing his presence as a broadcaster rather than a leader. In the 2023-2024 season, he received an annual salary of £1.35 million (W2.4 billion), the highest among BBC employees. 안전놀이터
