An official familiar with the soccer industry said on the 20th, “Jung Woo-jae’s return to Daegu has been confirmed,” adding, “It is expected to take steps as early as next week.”
Jung Woo-jae, who made his professional debut in Seongnam FC uniform in 2014, went through Chungju Hummel and built his nest in Daegu in 2016.
Jung Woo-jae made a remarkable contribution to his team’s promotion to the K League 1 by scoring three goals and three assists in 37 games in his first season as a member of Daegu, and has established himself as a leading fullback in Korea by scoring one goal and five assists in 33 games in the 2017 season, and one goal and three assists in 32 games in the 2018 season. Daegu, which succeeded in staying in the K League 1 after the promotion and playoffs last season, is expected to add a great boost to its side defense with the addition of Jung Woo-jae, who is classified as a player scheduled to acquire FA (free contract) qualification after his contract expires at the end of this year.
Meanwhile, Daegu, which has taken a breather with dramatic survival, is reportedly preparing for a busier-than-ever transfer market. Key resources such as Cesinha, Edgar, and Jang Sung-won have been caught, and Ramas’ return has been confirmed. In addition, he is reportedly set to renew his contract with the main goalkeeper Oh Seung-hoon and reinforce his offense.
