Bucheon FC, the second division of the K-League, has stepped up efforts to strengthen its midfield ahead of the new season. It has recruited midfielder Hong Ki-wook from Ajou University. Hong’s contract period is until 2027.
During his time at Chung-Ang High School, Hong was the runner-up in Geum Seok-bae’s national high school soccer tournament and the runner-up in high school weekend league tournaments. He went on to Ajou University.
Hong Ki-wook scored one goal in seven matches at the Korea University Sports Council (KUSF) college football U League 1, leading Ajou University to win the title in the fourth region. He also contributed significantly to ranking third at the 19th Tongyeong 1st and 2nd at the 18th Baekdu University College Football Association and ranking second at the 18th Baekdu College Football Association.
Currently, players from Ajou University, such as Park Chang-joon and Seo Myung-kwan, are active as main players in Bucheon. Therefore, it is expected that Hong Ki-wook, a graduate of Ajou University, will be able to follow the performance of his seniors.
Hong has excellent judgment by stealing the opponent team’s ball from the midfield and handing it over to the strikers. He is also considered a midfielder whose strength is simple and accurate pass play.
“Hong Ki-wook is an outstanding midfielder in the college league. His great strength is his mobility and excellent passing skills,” Bucheon coach Lee Young-min said. “I think he will be of great help as he has been selected for the national team by age.” 먹튀검증
Hong Ki-wook said, “It is an honor to join Bucheon. Ajou University seniors joined the team first and play an important role, so I want to see and learn a lot about how to survive in the professional league and how to take care of my body.”
“There is a big difference in tempo between the college league and the professional league, and the goal is to reduce the professional level and interval by supplementing a lot of physical strength and agility during the winter,” he said. “As a rookie, I will try to play as much as possible with good performance. I would appreciate it if you could send me a lot of support.”
