Pohang Captain Wandelson recorded the most playing time among K League 1 club players in 2024.
Wandelson, a Brazilian winger and wingback, topped the 2024 K League 1 playing time ranking compiled by the International Sports Institute (CIES) from January 1 to December 15 this year.
Wandelson played a total of 49 games and 4,202 minutes in Pohang uniforms, including all K League 1 games (38 games), the Asian Champions League, and the Korean Cup.
Born in 1989 and at the age of 35, he was active in both midfielders and full-backs.
Wandelson, a “K-League 9th-year gukbap foreigner” who joined Daejeon in 2015 and has been active in Pohang three times, is the oldest in the top 20 K-League 1 playing time rankings.
Wandelson played 175 minutes longer than Lee Myung-jae (Ulsan), the second-ranked left-back of the Korean national team. Lee combined his team (88.5 percent) with the national team (11.5 percent) for a total of 49 matches and 4,027 minutes.
Three of the top six players were from Pohang. Brazilian central midfielder Auverdan (3793) was ranked third, while center back Jeon Min-kwang (3584) was ranked sixth.
Gwangju midfielder Jung Ho-yeon (3682 minutes) ranked fourth, while veteran striker Joo Min-gyu (3610 minutes in Ulsan) ranked fifth. In terms of the number of matches he played, Joo Min-gyu ranked first (56 matches) overall.
Veteran center back Kim Young-kwon (Ulsan, 3,573 minutes), Gwangju fullback Kim Jin-ho (3479 minutes), Daegu fullback and midfielder Hwang Jae-won (3408 minutes), and Gimcheon midfielder and center back Kim Bong-soo (3405 minutes) finished the top 10 list. Kim ranked 10th only with pure league matches.
Jordanian center back Yazan joined Seoul in July during the season, but ranked 11th in playing time (3326 minutes). The ratio of playing time for the national team (46 percent) was high. 먹튀검증
Hwang Moon-ki (Gangwon, 3239 minutes), Choi Joon (Seoul, 3205 minutes), Mugosa (Incheon, 3,196 minutes), Andersson (Suwon FC, 3,125 minutes), Lee Tal-ro (Jeju, 3,109 minutes), Ko Seung-beom (Ulsan, 3070 minutes), Ahn Tae-hyun (Jeju, 3066 minutes), Yang Min-hyuk (Gangwon, 3051 minutes), and Ko Myung-seok (Daegu, 3010 minutes) were ranked 12th to 20th.
Yang, who officially joined Tottenham on Jan. 1, was the only teenager in the top 20.
