While various suspicions against the Korea Football Association have not been resolved, attention is being paid to the announcement of the results of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s audit scheduled next month.

On the 24th, the National Assembly’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee conducted a questioning on pending issues with the Football Association.

On the 5th, the Culture and Sports Committee adopted Hong Myung-bo, Chairman Chung Mong-kyu, Technical Director Lee Im-saeng, and former Chairman of the Power Reinforcement Committee Jung Hae-sung as witnesses in connection with the controversy over the operation of the Korea Football Association and the process of appointing the coach.

One of the blind spots was Hong, who faced criticism that the process of taking the national soccer team was unfair.

In July, the Korea Football Association spent nearly half a year choosing Hong, but unlike David Wagner and Gus Foyet, who were foreign coach candidates, they were criticized for not going through a fair process.

However, KFA officials have denied the claims altogether.

Coach Hong said, “I don’t think it was unfair or that there was preferential treatment,” and explained, “I heard from director Lee that he was the first in the Power Enhancement Committee and accepted the supervisory position.”

Chairman Chung said, “I have never picked a national team coach against the recommendation of the Korea Power Reinforcement Committee or the previous technical committee,” adding, “There is no problem with the procedure.”

The National Assembly’s stylistic committee criticized the soccer association’s explanation, saying it was not convincing.

Yang Moon-seok, a lawmaker of the Democratic Party of Korea, pointed out, “The 11th meeting (of the Korea Electric Power Reinforcement Committee) is illegal, the part that director Lee was entrusted to is illegal, and Hong, who did not submit documents, did not conduct prior interviews, and conducted actual face-to-face interviews, was appointed as the director.”

Bae Hyun-jin, a member of the People’s Power, criticized the soccer association’s figures as witnesses, saying, “The process of appointing Hong is very far-fetched, and there was a problem with procedural legitimacy in the process.”

Now, attention is focused on the audit results to be announced by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In July, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism conducted a basic investigation into the Korea Football Association and found problems and turned them into audits, and will announce the interim results on the 2nd of next month.

Culture Minister Yoo In-chon, who was present as a witness on the day, said, “The process of appointing a coach for the national soccer team is important. It is not just one or two people’s business,” and added, “We are grateful for the Korea Football Association. We will make an announcement on this matter on October 2.” 메이저놀이터

Unlike the actual foreign director candidates, whether Hong took office through an unfair process, whether there was no problem with director Lee being delegated the full power of the final decision, and how normal the power reinforcement committee worked will be addressed.

In addition, issues related to the possibility of Chung’s bid for a fourth term and controversy over opening a negative bank account worth 60 billion won in the process of building the Cheonan Football Center without the approval of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism are expected to be discussed.

If the leadership, including head coach Hong and chairman Chung, fail to face various controversies again this time, criticism toward Korean soccer is expected to continue.
