Hwaseong FC, which was active in the K3 League, will challenge the professional stage with former national team coach Cha Du-ri.
Hwaseong, which has consistently expressed its intention to become professional, submitted an application for membership to the Korea Professional Football Federation late last month.

According to the federation’s regulations, to join the K League 2, you must apply for membership by June 30 with documents such as a club organization of 20 or more members, a budget, a related agreement, a financial support (guarantee) confirmation, and the status of home stadium facilities.

The K League 2 fee of 500 million won must be paid before next year’s regular general meeting, and the annual fee of 50 million won must be paid by February next year.

Hwaseong is said to have been in constant communication with the federation and coordinating the timing of submission of the documents. According to sources from Hwaseong, the federation conducted due diligence on Hwaseong’s main stadium, Hwaseong’s home stadium, last year and determined that there was no reason for disqualification.

The federation also said it had watched the situation on Mars, which showed a strong will to become professional, adding, “We have extended the deadline for submitting documents by reviewing the current status and possibilities of professional preparations in various ways.”

The board of directors of the federation will deliberate on the management status of the Hwaseong club and its mid- to long-term operation and operation plan for the juvenile club system on the 29th. If it is finally approved at next year’s general meeting, it will enter the professional stage as the 14th club in the K League 2 of the 2025 season. The Hwaseong City Council will also finalize the budget for the professionalization of Hwaseong FC at the end of next month. 안전놀이터

Meanwhile, Cha Du-ri, former coach of the Korean national soccer team, is likely to take the helm of Hwaseong in the first year of his professional transition. A source in the soccer community said, “I understand that there have been many negotiations,” adding, “Cha Du-ri will be appointed to Hwaseong.”
An official from Hwaseong said, “Most of the leaders with P-level licenses, including Cha, are on the list at the recent personnel committee,” adding, “We will form a full-fledged squad as soon as the contract with the new coach is completed.”

Hwaseong, which won the K3 League last season, finished second with 16 wins, 8 draws and 6 losses this season.
