Call Palmer injured after being hit by Lisandro Martinez murder tackle.
Chelsea posted an interview with Coach Enzo Maresca on its website on Sunday (Korea time). “Palmer did not train together yesterday. We have to see if we can train together. I hope we can play on Sunday, but we will have to make a decision later,” Maresca said.
The injury seems to be related to the tackle on Lisandro. Chelsea and Manchester United faced off on Monday, when Lisandro committed a murder tackle on Palmer who was attempting to launch a counterattack in the second half. Lisandro’s tackle was directed to Palmer’s knee.
The referee declared an advantage and then declared a foul again. Since then, a collision between the Manchester United and Chelsea players has occurred, and the referee managed to stop the player. The VARs even went as far as to say the verdict was yellow. The Sun of the U.K. asked fans for their opinions when mentioning the Lisandro tackle, saying most fans should have given them red cards.
Marc Ogden, a reporter for the global media ESPN, criticized Lisandro, saying, “He was lucky to avoid a red card in VAR. The tackle on Palmer was reckless and dangerous. His actions will leave a danger to Manchester United in the future or soon.”
Manchester United seniors shook their heads, too. According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United legend Gary Neville said, “If you go that high, it’s a red card. I was lucky. If you go that high and don’t touch the ball, it’s a red card.” 안전놀이터
So did Roy Keane. Agreeing with Neville, who said, “Martinez wouldn’t have liked Palmer to make him an idiot. (The tackle) was a terrible challenge. But I didn’t get it right and took Palmer in the leg. I wouldn’t have had anything to say if I had been sent off.”
Jamie Redknapp from Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur also criticized Martinez, saying, “It was reckless and wrong. Martinez knew exactly what he was doing. Look how high his legs go. There was no need to do that.”
With the Lisandro tackle, Palmer is uncertain to play, and Jadon Sancho is certainly an injury. “Sancho will not be able to play in future games. He has a disease and is bruised, so he will not be able to play in future games. He will return after the A-match break,” Maresca said.
