Suwon Samsung of the professional soccer K League 2 left a faint hope for promotion.

Suwon beat the Ansan Greeners 2-1 in the 38th round of Hana Bank K League 2 2024 at Yongin Mir Stadium on the 3rd. They lost the first point in the second half, but later turned the tables with two goals.

Suwon wrapped up its regular league schedule with the match against Ansan. As of the end of round 38, it ranks fourth (56 points). FC Anyang, the winner of this season’s K League 2, has automatically secured promotion.

The second-ranked team will have a playoff against the 11th-ranked team in the K League. The third- to fifth-ranked teams will have PO2 against the 10th-ranked team in the K League.

If Suwon lost to Ansan, the possibility of promotion would have disappeared altogether. However, a come-from-behind victory left a silver lining. Suwon must be in the top five at least to continue its bid for promotion.

The situation is not easy. Unlike Suwon, which has already completed its schedule, the rival team has one last game to play. For Suwon to challenge for the K League 2 PO, either the fifth-ranked Jeonnam Dragons (54 points) or the sixth-ranked Busan I’Park (53 points) needs to record a draw or less in the final match. Jeonnam will meet the second-ranked Seoul E-Land (58 points), and Busan the eighth-ranked Bucheon FC (49 points).

Suwon has already rented the Mir Stadium in Yongin, taking into account the schedule of the K League 2 PO and the promotion PO. The best scenario is that it will play two more home games, including the promotion PO, after confirming its fourth place. 먹튀검증

According to a Suwon club official, the Suwon team will have a three-day break after the match. Afterwards, the team will have a mini field training session immediately after having a get-together. The team is preparing for the promotion challenge period that will follow the A match period from November 11 to 19. Coach Byun Sung-hwan said he had already devised various scenarios for the promotion since July.

The final round of the K League 2 regular league will kick off at 6 stadiums at 2 p.m. on the 9th.
