Daegu FC Cesinha won the “EA SPORTS K League Player of the Month” in September sponsored by K-League official video game partner Electronic Arts (hereinafter referred to as “EA”).
The EA SPORTS K League Player of the Month Award (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Player of the Month Award’) selects the candidate group through voting by the Federation TSG Technical Committee (60%) among the players selected as MOM (Gyeonggi Training Player), Best Eleven, and MVP of the K League 1 game held for a month. After that, K League fan voting (25%) through the ‘Kick’ application and EA SPORTS™ FC Online (15%) user voting (15%) will be conducted for the candidates selected by the TSG Technical Committee, and the player with the highest converted score by adding three items will receive the ‘Player of the Month Award’.
The Player of the Month award for September was based on his performance in the 29-32 rounds of the K League held in September. Cesinha (Daegu), Lee Dong-kyung (Gimcheon), Lee Chang-geun (Daejeon), and Jorge (Pohang) were nominated. As a result, Cesinha received the honor by ranking first in all of the votes from the Federation TSG Technical Committee, the K-League fan vote, and the FC online user vote.
Cesinha scored one goal in the 30th round against Jeju, leading his team to a landslide 4-0 victory, followed by two consecutive equalizers in the 31st round against Seoul and the 32nd round against Gangwon, saving his team from defeat. As a result, Cesinha was named the best 11 in the 31st and 32nd rounds in a row. In particular, Cesinha won his sixth career Player of the Month award, the most by any player in history.
Cesinha made his K-League debut in 2016 wearing a Daegu uniform and has been performing well every year, and he has scored 11 goals and seven assists this season, ranking second in K-League 1’s most offensive points.
